Funny stuff.

http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/top10/10blackmetal.html

Click on the linky for some hilarity. These bands are most likely comprised of people who still live with their parents.

No pictures of yesterday's deck adventures have surfaced. Sorry to those hoping for some.

That's about it. If you're hoping for funny stuff, try again tomorrow.

Been one of THOSE days.

30th post!! Should I bake a cake or something?

So, I get home from work, and decide to clean the icicles off my deck. Sounds like a splendid idea, seeing as if there's a fire at my pad and I need to bail out, then out the door I go.

So, the damned snow melting off the roof has frozen in front of the screen door. Lovely. I destroyed the door getting it off, so I'll be springing for one of those this spring.

As I'm chipping the ice away, I notice an awful lot of it is going into my bedroom. So, I close the door. Anyone seeing a problem here? I'll give you a minute or so to quit snickering.

Ok, long enough.

So, I get all the ice cleared away. Life is good, yes?

No.

Dumbass that I can be sometimes, I'd forgotten to check and make sure the lock on the door handle wasn't pushed in. Oops.

So, there I am. My apartment is on the second story. I lean over the rail to gauge how far of a jump it might be, when I see my buddy's truck pulling away from in front of the house.

Lovely. Option 2 has left the building. This leaves me with option 1, which is not as preferable as option 2. Climb off the deck, and then get as close as possible to the ground, then jump. Luckily, I get very close and the jump isn't so awful.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

I went and saw a movie this weekend. If you get the chance to see " Sideways ", by all means, do it. GREAT movie. Funny as hell. It runs over 2 hours, but it's so damned good it's worth it.

I added a couple of linkies, and some other stuff on the side.

This truck makes me tingle.

Ain't it pretty??
I mean, LOOK AT IT. It looks like a pickup SHOULD look. Dodge had it about right with the 1st generation Ram, and then they messed it up with what they have now. The new F150 makes me wanna barf.

I'll have my Super Duty in Dark Green Metallic, thank you.

BTW, if you're ordering a new truck, do yourself a favor, and check the box next to 'Tow Hooks'. Trust me on this one. This summer, my truck will be getting a set installed, front and rear. Whether or not I spend the time to rip the rusted out bed off and build a flatbed is up in the air. Depends on if I can come up with a design that appeals to me asthetically.

I'm too bloody tired to write any more. Off to bed.

Some Wednesdays just suck.

This one wasn't too horrible, though.

Started out kinda off. I was heading to work, and I had to pull out into the street just a hair so I could see over the snowbanks 'n SUVs with an 8 inch pile of snow on top of them. Some guy in a minivan drove by and glared at me. Then his wife/GF, whatever shook her index finger at me. I waved a different finger. For some reason, I decided that driving after them so I could catch up 'n flip them off again was a good idea. I think I didn't get enough sleep last night.

I've decided I need to get myself a nice big SUV so I can see over things too. Plus, blasting through snowbanks and stuff is FUN! This weekend, I plan to see if I can blow up my truck blastin through the drifts near my house. One of my coworkers is gonna bring his truck along just in case I bury the thing, which is the general idea. Good times.

I'm going to go look at an older Dodge Ramcharger later this week, if I can find some time. Maybe it'll be worth going into debt for. We'll see.

Few things(long post warning)

Went to Duluth to see my doctor today. $20 copay told me what I already knew. Another lovely bout of bronchitis. Swell. My doc gave me some samples of a new antibiotic, which was VERY cool. I like my doctor.

What I DON'T like, is having to go to Duluth, especially after we got smacked the other day with some snow, which the city has been slow to remove. Absolutely shitty roads. Shitty drivers too. Made me wish I still had my Jeep.

http://www.save-now.com/news/archives/Charlton-Heston-Gun-Controle.htm

Go read that speech Heston gave to the National Press Club in 1997. He's 100% right. There's a link to another of his speeches. Read that too. Now I know why all those people had "Charlton Heston is my president" stickers on their trucks.

Speaking of trucks, I gave some thought to them earlier today while rollin' to the laundromat.

What the manufacturers need to do is produce a nice, cheap pickup with none of that stupid crap the yuppie pansies at Motor Trend seem to like in their pickups. Were I to go out and look for a truck today, here's my list of desires:
  1. Cruise control.
  2. Air conditioning.(not a necessity, but damn nice to have)
  3. Standard cab.
  4. 4 wheel drive. I'd prefer a solid front axle, but IFS will do.

I have no use for any electronic frippery. I don't need a freakin compass in the roof to tell me which direction I'm going. I have GPS for that.

In the 90's, GM built what I think is damn near the perfect truck. They called it the W/T, for Work Truck. No chrome, no carpets, none of that crap. If I recall correctly, its only flaw(to me, anyways) was that you couldn't get one with a V8. But, the 4.3 V6 is almost as good, and leaves lotsa room under to hood to putter around if that's your thing. If I ever find one for sale at a good price, that bad boy is MINE. Boo-ya.

I was gonna rant 'n rave about the VP of Indonesia being an ungrateful asshole, but I'm saving that for another night. I'll wait till I'm much more cranky.

This thing is way too cool!!

It has come to my attention via Autoweek that the people at Crosslander have gotten their truck to pass EPA's standards, and that the truck should start arriving in midsummer '05. Why is this cool?? Scope this pic.

This is the Crosslander 244X, built in Romania. Price starts at UNDER $20k.

That's a freakin STEAL. It's got a 4 liter V6, nice hp and torque ratings.

www.crosslander4x4.com

Go there and scope it out. These things look badass. I'm picturing one with a 3" lift and 33s. YUMMY.

This is what America needs; A quality, reasonably priced SUV. I mean, a Suburban runs what, 40 thousand bucks? WTF??

Hopefully they make it BIG in the US, and bring over a pickup version. That'd be way cool.

AND, if anyone working for Crosslander happens to read this(yeah, right), I'd be more than happy to long term test one for you, free of charge. Preferably a green one just like in the picture.

Hey, if you're gonna dream, dream big, right??

Thoughts on 'The Game'

I'm surprised at the outcome of this game, to tell you the truth. Playing the Packers at Lambeau, in January? Who'd have thunk it?

Even though he had a damned good game, the Vikes need to get rid of Moss. Period.

I loved watching Jimmy Johnson rip him a new one during the pregame show. Seeing that jackass get ripped on by SOMEBODY just made my day.

Too bad nobody in the Vikings front office has seen fit to do the same.

I wonder how they'll do against the Eagles?

Playin in the snow= FUN!

So, we got a buncha snow Saturday night. Late Sunday morning began the digging out phase. UN broke out his snowblower, and we moved all our vehicles out and blew out the parking area. After all the shoveling was done, I decided I'd best check and make sure the 4WD worked in my truck. So I blasted through the snow on my boulevard a few times. Good times.

I was listening to some CDs before work, seeing as I didn't start till 1.

I gotta tell you, if you like loud assed guitar rock, and you DON'T have The Donnas' "Spend The Night" CD, then you should rectify that situation like, say, IMMEDIATELY! Their guitar player's sound kicks so much ass, it'll make the cows go dry! Now, THAT'S awesome!

Another good investment is Silvertide's CD "Show & Tell". More tasty guitar rock. When you get right down to it, the best rock 'n roll comes from 2 guitars cranked up, some loud ass bass that'll make yer fillings fall out, and some drums that'll blow the roof off.

Now, THAT'S rock 'n roll.

Snow!

Last night brought us several inches of the cold white stuff. Not bad, except for the layer of ice the snow's covering. I decided to not buy myself a nice lil R/C snowmobile to play with, and now I wish I had. Can't find one anywhere.

For those of you who read the comments to my posts, (and you ALL do, right??) I DO read them as they come in. My Xmas list post seems to have annoyed someone, who suggests I keep my hormones in check. Apparently, they can dish out criticism, but not take it, as when one of my friends said something, this person got mad and won't read my blog anymore.

Too bad for that person, as I'm now getting the hang of this blogging thing, and was about to remedy the fact that I've fallen way behind in posting lotsa fart jokes, potty humor, and other stuff that amuses me.

Sucks to be that person.

Anyhow, I'll prob post something later on tonight. I've got to go dig out my car and shovel the sidewalk. One of the benefits of a 4WD vehicle is that I don't have to dig out my truck also. I just pull it into 4WD and drive out.
